Liz’s Journey to Everest: Climbing for Community, Music, and Joy

For the past eight years, Liz hasn’t just volunteered — she’s pushed herself to grow, give back, and make a real difference. Driven by a desire to challenge herself both physically and personally, she has taken on some of the world’s most iconic treks, including the Annapurna Circuit, Kilimanjaro, and the Inca Trail. Now, Everest Base Camp stands as her next and most meaningful high-altitude challenge yet — a true culmination of everything she’s worked towards.

What began as simply helping out a friend at the festival quickly became something far more significant. After experiencing it firsthand, Liz realised just how important it is to the community and to every individual involved. The joy it brings is immediate and infectious — a powerful reminder of the impact shared experiences can have. It’s that feeling that keeps her coming back, and she is committed to supporting the festival for as long as it continues.

While she has always fundraised for larger, mainstream causes, this journey is
different. This time, her focus is local — supporting something she feels deeply
connected to. As a former musician, Liz understands the true importance of music and live performance: the confidence it builds, the connections it creates, and the lasting impact it can have on people’s lives.

Seeing people take to the stage, express themselves, and feel a genuine sense of
pride and belonging is what drives her. As a lifelong festival lover, Liz believes
everyone should have the chance to experience that. This challenge is not just about reaching Everest Base Camp — it’s about helping to ensure that sense of joy, creativity, and community continues to thrive.

The Rockin’ Roadrunner thanks Liz for her endeavours and asks you to kindly support her by donating.
